How NSResolve handles data.
You can run a DNS lookup without creating an account or supplying an email address.

Lookup requests
The application processes the domain or IP address, record type, resolver choice, and network request metadata needed to answer your request. The server sends DNS queries to the selected public resolvers or public authoritative nameservers. Those operators can observe the query and the server’s network address under their own policies.
Service protection and logs
The application holds temporary rate-limit state in memory to protect the service. Persistent application usage statistics and lookup diagnostic files are not enabled. The server may retain operational errors in rotated container logs.
The production reverse proxy records request metadata such as the time, network address, URL, method, response status, and duration. URLs may contain query settings when you open a shared link. Request headers and DNS lookup request bodies are excluded from these access logs. Access logs rotate at 10 MiB, with up to five rotated files retained for no more than seven days.
Hosting and Cloudflare
NSResolve is operated by David Priest and hosted on a VPS. Website traffic passes through Cloudflare for DNS, HTTPS, and protection against abuse. Cloudflare processes network and request metadata under its own policies; its security features may set cookies or present browser checks. DNS resolver operators also process the queries sent to them.
Browser storage
The colour theme is saved in your browser’s local storage under nsresolve-theme. This preference is not sent to the server. NSResolve sets no application cookies and loads no analytics or advertising scripts.
Shareable links
A lookup places the queried name, record type, resolver, and comparison choice in the page URL. These can remain in browser history and will be included if you copy or share the link. Avoid querying names you consider confidential.
Contact and other sites
The contact page links to AuthLookup’s contact form, which is a separate service with its own privacy notice. NSResolve does not collect contact submissions directly.
Policy against unsolicited advertising
NSResolve must not be advertised through messages that recipients have not asked to receive. This covers promotion of nsresolve.com, its tools, content, or links by email, text message, private or social media message, forum spam, comment spam, or similar channels, whether sent individually or in bulk.
No affiliate, contractor, user, or other third party has permission to send unsolicited promotions for NSResolve or claim to do so on our behalf. We do not buy or rent mailing lists, use third-party marketing lists to advertise the site, or sell, rent, or add enquiry email addresses to marketing lists. Any future optional marketing would require a separate, clear choice and an easy way to unsubscribe. Responses to enquiries and relevant follow-up messages are service correspondence.
If you receive unwanted advertising that promotes NSResolve, please report it through our contact channel with enough detail for us to investigate. Such promotion is unauthorised, and we will take reasonable action to address reported misuse.
